Mycological Illustration
These watercolour fungi illustrations are part of an ongoing painting project I started back in 2017.
I have always been really interested in botanical illustration, but wanted to challenge myself to paint something more out of my comfort zone.
I fell in love with mushrooms and other fungi as I learned and researched more about them. There are so many different types and species that look and behave in drastically varied ways.
They give an insight into a diverse and fascinating area of ecology with a magical and at times slightly creepy undertone.
